GINI
Great Indy Neighborhoods
GINI is a citywide collaboration created to promote a holistic approach to healthy communities, integrating civic, social, physical and economic development needs. The six Indianapolis neighborhoods competitively selected to participate in the Demonstration Initiative are eligible to apply for early action grants, and they are as follows:
- near east side, convened by the John H. Boner Community Center
- northeast side, convened by Binford Redevelopment and Growth
- southeast side, convened by Southeast Neighborhood Development
- near west side, convened by Hawthorne Community Center
- northwest side, convened by Crooked Creek Northwest Community Development Corporation
- southwest side, convened by West Indianapolis Development Corporation
The following are goals of early action projects:
- To have immediate impact on the quality of life in the targeted area
- To involve a diverse representation of residents from the targeted area
- To build collaboration among organizations and businesses in the targeted area
- To build the foundation for future impact through the GINI Process
